The Best Way To Spend Easter in Reading

The evenings are finally brighter, the flowers are blooming, and spring has finally sprung! Kids are excited for some time away from school, but parents don’t exactly share that excitement. It can be tiring and costly to entertain your family over Easter break, so we’ve put together a handy list of the best family-friendly events and places to go in Reading.

Reading Museum

If you tell them where you’re going, you’ll surely hear a few moans and groans. They won’t believe how much fun can be had in a museum until you take a trip Reading Museum and check out their interactive exhibitions and art & craft afternoons. This Easter they have an escape room, Chicks & Bunnies art tables, children’s book readings and of course, plenty of Easter edibles along the way. The museum is free to enter and it’s in a great part of town to continue the day exploring.

Reading Climbing Centre

These days, kids want to stay indoors and play video games or watch TV, which can have a terrible effect on their physical health and social skills. This Easter, bring them somewhere to make them excited about physical exercise again, like Reading Climbing Centre. The centre is open to kids from age 4 onwards and they have classes for beginners if they’ve never climbed before. They even run short ‘summer-camp’ type events over three days. It’s a great way to develop their communication skills and confidence while keeping them active.

Easter Egg Hunt

What is Easter without a heap of chocolate eggs! From the 1st April 2019 until 22nd April 2019 Cadbury are running a daily Easter Egg Hunt in Basildon Park. Follow the Easter trail and solve the clues to earn your yummy chocolate prize. Pick up a trail leaflet from reception and spend the day hunting, exploring the wild play trail, out on a parkland walk or bring a picnic with you and enjoy at the picnic tables. This event is suitable for children of all ages and is a really fun day out for all the family.

Legoland Windsor

It may be a bit of a trip from PREMIER SUITES Reading but Legoland Windsor is what childhood dreams are made of! Imagine jumping into a life-sized box of Lego where you can ride, explore and build as much as you want for a whole day. There are a host of different Lego worlds to explore, like Viking land, Ninjago, pirates, knights and even Duplo for the smallest visitors. Check what’s on before you go, and you might be lucky enough to see one of their all-singing and dancing shows while you’re there.

Now that your days are full to bursting, you’ll need to find accommodation that’s as flexible as your family. Luckily PREMIER SUITES Reading offer spacious, centrally located accommodation that is fantastic value. Our Spring & Summer offer is now on, offering you a huge 20% off our best available rate when you stay for three or more nights in a row.

We wish you a very happy and peaceful Easter and hope to welcome you soon!
