Easter in Glasgow

Two weeks of school holidays can feel like two years when you have children to entertain. So with that in mind, we’ve taken the liberty of putting together a list of things to do and see in Glasgow over the Easter break to inspire you and keep the family entertained.

Educational

It’s hard to keep little minds stimulated and entertained simultaneously but luckily Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum have you covered, especially if they are fascinated by dinosaurs. The Natural History Museum’s iconic Diplodocus dinosaur skeleton cast, nicknamed Dippy, is on his UK tour and stops in the museum until 6th May. As well as the usual educational trip to the museum, you can all learn a little about the pre-historic era and take part in egg-citing egg hunts and learn about the different types of eggs found in nature. .

Outdoor Play

If you want to encourage your family to get outdoors and appreciate all the fun they can have without a screen pressed to their noses, West End Adventures is running a really cool summer camp with plenty of outdoor fun to keep them occupied and tire them out! Activities include climbing, archery, kayaking, abseiling, bushcraft and hill walking. The camp will take them away in the morning and take great care of them all day, bringing them back wet, muddy, tired and completely satisfied with a fantastic day in the great outdoors.

A little magic

If you have children who like the rest of the world are obsessed with the wonderful world of Harry Potter and all thing magical, there is a very special exhibition for them. From 1-12th April, Kelvin Hall is hosts to an exhibition where you can uncover mystical items from a world of spells, potions and divination. You can see a real cauldron, magic lantern and raven’s eggs. All of the displays and exhibitions are family-friendly and completely free to enter, just bring yourself and your imagination. .

Building your way to the top

Who doesn’t love Lego! It’s a great way to encourage kids imaginations, dexterity and to nurture their building brains. This year over the Spring Break, Trades Hall of Glasgow turns into an amazing world of Superheroes & Villains, Ninja-Go, and Minecraft when Bricks 4 Kidz brings their fantastic summer camps to Glasgow. They will learn insider building tips, help to build motorised models and even get the chance to fly the Lego Drone. There are different themed camps each day depending on their interest and tickets are £22.50 per child for a full day of fun. .
