Pleased to Meet You – 9 mins walk 

A relative newcomer on the Newcastle bar scene, Pleased to Meet You offer an ever-changing menu of craft beers, international gins, world wines and cocktails worth writing home about. Its impressive interior is completed by a HUGE drinks menu but most impressively of all, a really comprehensive beer list. Fifteen craft keg and six cask pumps supply the bar with a mixture of local and international beers with all of the local breweries well represented. Bacchus – 10 min walk

Describing itself as a ‘real ale pub’ Bacchus offers a wide range of cask ales, a great choice of microbrewery beers, an extensive wine list and a vast choice of spirits. The venue is stylish with the décor subtly inspired by a Grand Ocean liner and paying homage to Newcastle’s shipbuilding heritage. They are a regular feature in CAMRA, the Good Beer Guide and have won numerous awards in many prestigious ceremonies. The 16 cask and craft keg lines, as well as a huge bottled selection, are very on-trend with many local beers and some very special international additions.

Bridge Tavern – 11 min walk

One of the only pubs in the city centre to actually brew their own beer on-site, The Bridge Tavern has an impressive selection of both in-house, national and international beers with something to suit every taste. The gleaming copper tuns are visible at one end of the room, so you know you are getting the freshest pint every time. They brew in association with Wylam Brewery, the region’s leading craft brewer. Food is just as important as the beer here, with delicious bar snacks to compliment the subtle tastes in each of their brews. Try the pig’s head croquettes with caper mayo and a half of the crisply bitter pale ale, Gold Dust. 

Newcastle Brewing Ltd – 26 min walk

Although it is a bit of a walk from our serviced apartments in Newcastle, if you want a behind the scenes look at how our famous beers are made, visit Newcastle Brewing Ltd. You’ll take the tour with their master brewer Leo who knows exactly what he’s doing and why and is more than happy to explain. During the tour, which takes about an hour, you’ll learn about the brewing process, what gives each beer its unique colour & flavour, and you’ll sample five of their delicious beers ranging in strength from 3.6-6.8%.
