The Wizard Of Oz Experience
On March 12th, the streets of Glasgow will turn into the magical world of Oz in an escape room event. Gather friends and family and help Dorothy escape from the Wicked Witch, solving puzzles along the way. Join her iconic team, the Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow and the Tin Man to help save Dorothy and continue down the yellow brick road. Follow the clues, solve witty puzzles to uncover hidden paths and complete all the challenges to get to Dorothy in time. You’ll be competing against hundreds of other teams throughout the day to be the first to escape and save Dorothy from the Wicked Witch.
How does it work?
Evade the wrath of the Wicked Witch by solving puzzles and finding the next location on time, in this escape room-style game through the streets of Glasgow. Play as a team or compete against each other to see who can save poor Dorothy before anyone else. Each ticket admits access to up to 6 devices so you can pair up, separate, or break into teams or family groups. Children go free and you can bring as many as you like to help solve the clues faster. Playing in costume is optional but we’d love to see all sorts of Wizard of Oz Costumes running around George Square and there are prizes for the best-dressed teams. The game is self-guided, and you can see your score on the global leaderboard when you finish.
How to Attend
This immersive event is guided by a mobile app which can be shared by up to six devices. You’ll start somewhere in George Square – the exact starting point will be emailed to you closer to the time. Start by booking a spot for your team on the website and you should receive an email with more details. Now all you have to do is wait for the big day and get your costumes ready. The event should take about 90 minutes to two hours on average and the fastest to complete it will be forever immortalised on the leaderboard. The event starts any time between 8am and 6pm so there is time for a brain food breakfast before you get going.
