Breakfast
Start your day off right with a light bite and some of the best coffee in South Dublin according to us. Baristas Café specialise in good food and excellent service. Their varied breakfast menu will have something for every appetite. They are so close to us you can almost smell the fresh coffee from our front door.Â
Being A Tourist
A short drive from Sandyford lies the beautiful Killiney Hill. A pleasant walk up the hill will lead you to some of Dublin’s most scenic coastal and city views. This is a great opportunity to take the perfect picture or just sit and enjoy the views with a flask of tea. We highly recommend this as an opportunity not to miss when in Dublin.
Five minutes’ drive from Killiney Hill you will find Dalkey Castle. Guides and costumed actors will take you back in time to Tudor days and if you haven’t had enough of a view already you can climb the battlements and admire the sea and mountains from a height. Drop-in tours run from 10 weekdays or 11 weekends.
Lunch And Shopping
Kill two birds with one stone in Dundrum Shopping centre. Dundrum has so many places to eat with cuisine varying from Thai to Italian food; there is something to suit every palate and pocket. Our new favourite is Five Guys, the cult American chain restaurant. We haven’t seen this place without a queue since it opened but their delicious food is well worth the wait. If burgers aren’t your thing why not try the Port House for delicious tapas and a fantastic wine menu.Â
Dundrum itself has 160 stores so you are sure to find whatever you are looking for. From high street to high end the centre has something for everyone. With everything from pharmacies to furniture stores, you could easily get lost for hours browsing for a bargain.
Dinner And Drinks
After a long day of walking and shopping, you’ll want to stay close to home for your biggest meal of the day. The Leopardstown Inn is about 15-minutes’ walk from us so you won’t have far to go to get back to your cosy bed. This long established pub is loved by locals and racing enthusiasts alike. They serve high-quality ‘pub grub’ until 10pm each night and have recently updated their menu.
If the mood takes you after dinner they also have a new bar ‘The Lep’ which serves a wide variety of spirits, beers and delicious cocktails. They host a live DJ until late on Friday and Saturday nights too.
