One Day In Glasgow

Glasgow is renowned for its culture, vibrancy, shopping, dining and of course the colourful locals. PREMIER SUITES PLUS Glasgow is located right in the middle of the action, surrounded by the historic George Square, so you won’t run out of things to do or see. Here is an example of our ideal day in Glasgow.

Breakfast

We Scots take breakfast very seriously and even have some special Scottish dishes which are unique to us. Square sausages and tattie scones are included in a full Scottish breakfast along with copious amounts of tea. We like a real Scottish breakfast in Café Gandolfi, a short walk from your apartment, to start the day off right.

Being a tourist

Glasgow is so lucky to have a rich history and culture so you will be spoiled for choice. You could organise a walking tour to ensure you see all of the highlights of the city and learn a little on the way. The guides are usually local and have a knowledge of the city that the guidebooks won’t tell you. Tours last from 2 hours to a half day and cost between £8-10. Well worth it to make sure you don’t miss anything.

Along your walking tour route, you will surely be shown Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. This attraction is Scotland’s most visited free-to-enter museums and contains 22 galleries and 8000 pieces of art. We would say this is a definite must-see on your trip.

Lunch

If you are hungry at lunchtime – Scottish breakfast is known to be quite filling – you could try the award-winning Bread Meats Bread restaurant. This place is well known for its burgers and has won Yelp’s ‘Top place to eat in Glasgow’ in 2016. They have a selection of local meats but cater for veggies and vegans also. They are less than 5-minutes’ walk from PREMIER SUITES PLUS Glasgow too.

Shopping

There are so many good retail outlets in Glasgow but our favourite area is Buchanan Street as it’s just around the corner from us. This street has a mixture of high end and high street stores so there is something to suit everyone’s taste and pocket. Buchanan Galleries is a large shopping centre with over 80 shops to choose from, some of which cannot be found anywhere else in Glasgow.

Dinner

Glasgow is such an international city and we are lucky to have some of the best cuisines from around the world. We are especially lucky to have one of these restaurants as our neighbour. Thai Dining Chaophraya is a based in the building that once housed the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama and serves delicious food over four beautifully decorated floors. Our guests are offered a 20% discount when dining here too.

To stay right in the middle of the city, with wonderful views and accommodation that really makes you feel at home choose PREMIER SUITES PLUS Glasgow for your trip. For more information or to check rates please visit our website, we look forward to welcoming you!
