Liverpool Event Guide 2023

Summer has finally arrived and with it brought some of the best and most exciting days of the year. The events schedule of things to do in Liverpool is never boring and it’s a great time to visit the city and enjoy a festival or a show. If you’re travelling with friends, family or as a couple, our serviced apartment accommodation in Liverpool is ideal. We offer the space, comfort and facilities of a home-from-home and our central location means you’re always at the heart of the action. From music festivals to family-friendly festivals, as usual, Liverpool has something for everyone.

Pride in Liverpool – TBC July

Pride makes a triumphant return this summer dominating the iconic Pier Head and city centre over one rainbow-filled weekend. Pride is a celebration of all things LGBTQ+ celebrating our differences and commemorating our achievements while acknowledging how far we still have to go. It’s a highlight of many social calendars and people travel from far and wide to be part of this over-the-top event. There is usually a march/parade, followed by festivities like street parties, themed nights, performances and much more. The official date is to be announced but it usually takes place the last weekend in July.

Creamfields – 24th to 27th August

Technically not in Liverpool but we have a lot of people commuting to and from Cheshire to Creamfields, one of the biggest and best festivals in the UK. Every year, thousands of music lovers gather in the fields of Daresbury to witness iconic artists and performers from the dance and rave scene. The atmosphere at Creamfields is what makes the festival so popular and with big names like Calvin Harris, David Guetta, BLK and Eric Prydz performing, lovers of dance music would be mad to miss it. The commute between Liverpool and Cheshire is less than 40 minutes and there are dedicated buses between the two locations if you’d prefer not to slum it in the campsite.

Liverpool Indoor Funfair 15-23rd August

We all know that UK weather isn’t always reliable, that’s why the introduction of an indoor funfair is very welcome! For a week in August, this family-friendly event sets up along Albert Docks with something for everyone. There are 26+ jaw-dropping rides and wonderful attractions to enjoy with something for big and little ones to experience. Wristbands allow unlimited access to all rides for three hours and there are discounts on early bird tickets. There are games to be played and prizes to be won alongside some tasty carnival food. It’s a fabulously fun day out for all of the family and worth travelling for.

Reminisce Festival – 9th September

One of the most feel-good festivals in Liverpool returns this September for a one-day celebration of music and good vibes. The festival takes place in the beautiful Sherdley Park in St Helen’s and features over 100 acts and artists. Headline acts this year include the brilliant Heather Small, John Martin, Boyzlife and legendary throwback act Vengaboys. There are six stages packed with acts from morning until night and the festival sites has firebreathers, stilt walkers and other fantastic acts to add to the atmosphere. There are no campsites and the park is just 30 minutes by train to Liverpool Lime St which is a short walk from our accommodation in Liverpool.

Various Events

Aside from the excellent lineup of festivals, there are events almost every night in Liverpool. We have a great selection of venues, showing music, comedy, theatre and other exhibitions all over the city this summer. In July Jimmy Carr, Teddy Swims and Morrissey have gigs in the city. August brings First Aid Kit and Olly Murs and the legendary Pink Floyd and Seal perform in August. There are live recordings of podcasts, one-off exhibitions and shows that you won’t find anywhere else. You’ll find specialist shows like WWE wrestling in M&S Bank Arena and comedy specials like Troy Hawke’s Sigmund Troy’d in Philharmonic Hall. Whenever you come to Liverpool, keep an eye out for events in local performance spaces.
