Rotterdam is a growing city where more and more events are being organized. This differs from small festivals to very large events, so there is a lot to do every month. That’s why we have selected the five best events you do not want to miss.
NN Rotterdam Marathon
Every year during the first weekend of April is the Rotterdam Marathon. There are 46.000 people who walk and follow different marathon routes. It doesn’t matter what distance you run; everyone finishes on the famous Coolsingel. This year it is the 40th edition of the Marathon and even more important for us. Our COO Bouke Koppert, is also running the marathon this year for a special purpose. He is going to raise money for VictorKracht, the son of our colleague. Eurovision Song Contest
The winner of the Eurovision song contest 2019 is…… The Netherlands! How wonderful this is, the Netherlands is going to host the Eurovision Song Contest this year and the organization has chosen the city of Rotterdam where the event takes place. We are proud to announce that we are one of the official hotels for participating countries staying in Rotterdam during this period. Also several festivals are organized where you really want to go. It is still possible to buy tickets for the various shows. Make sure you are there!
North See Jazz
The North Sea Jazz Festival is an annual music festival that is organized in the second weekend of July. During three days there are several performances in Ahoy of big Jazz artists. You hear music on every corner of the street and you only see happy Jazz lovers. From PREMIER SUITES PLUS Rotterdam there is a good connection to go to Ahoy. The metro or tram will take you there in ten minutes.
Summer Carnival
Summer Carnival Rotterdam is a tropical carnival with an average of 2.000 festival goers living in the Netherlands. This event takes place annually in the last weekend of July. The tradition of the festival consists of seven parts: The Queen Election, The Warming-Up, The Battle of Drums, The Mercado, The Street Parade and The Stage Programming and Prize-giving. On Saturday is the big parade where people dance through the streets of Rotterdam. You hear music in the streets and see dancing people everywhere. The route passes our hotel and it is certainly nice to have a look.
World Harbour Days
The World Harbour Days is an annual maritime event in the port of Rotterdam. There are spectacular demonstrations on the docks and the water. Also there are interesting excursions to do and ships you can see or visit. During three days there is plenty of movement and excitement on the Maas. You can see several shows. Since Rotterdam is the largest port in Europe, there is a lot to know. The event can be visited annually in the first weekend of September.
