Liverpool Film Office is based within Liverpool City Council meaning it’s easy to liaise with all the necessary departments and key local contacts, including Merseyside Police, to ensure all your production needs are met quickly and efficiently. All filming on or around Liverpool City Council land, buildings, facilities and public highways requires permission and Liverpool Film Office operates an industry-standard film permit system making applying for filming permissions quick and easy.
A History of Film in Liverpool
Some of the biggest names have worked in Liverpool to produce and participate in some household name movies. The Deathly Hallows Part One, part of the famous Harry Potter franchise was part filmed here. Fleeing Voldemort and his Death Eaters, Harry & Hagrid take a detour through the Mersey Tunnel narrowly missing the oncoming traffic. Another thrilling chase sequence with Vin Diesel in ‘Fast & Furious 6’ is set in London but was filmed through the Queensway Tunnel in Liverpool. One of the most widely anticipated movies of 2022, ‘The Batman’ was also filmed here with the moody superhero spotted on top of the Liver Building.
