Abbey Ruins

Abbey Quarter
The Reading Abbey Quarter was created to bring together the unique, cultural heritage that exists within the former grounds of Reading Abbey, once one of Europe's largest royal monasteries.

Forbury Lion
The statue got its name from the Battle of Maiwand and was built in 1884 to commemorate the deaths of over 250 men from the 66th Berkshire Regiment of Foot during the Second Anglo-Afghan War.

Reading Museum
Reading Museum has provided award-winning opportunities for learning, inspiration and enjoyment since its first opening back in 1883.
