Where to Find the Best Breakfast & Brunch in Glasgow

Where to Find the Best Breakfast & Brunch in Glasgow

Waking up in Glasgow and craving a proper breakfast? You’re in luck. Whether you’re after a traditional Scottish fry-up, a veggie-friendly brunch, or just a good coffee and pastry, Glasgow has plenty of great spots to start your day.

Staying at PREMIER SUITES Glasgow George Square puts you right in the middle of it all. Our serviced apartments are just steps from some of the city’s most loved cafes and brunch spots. Here are a few favourites, all within walking distance or a quick ride away.

Wilson Street Pantry

Wilson Street – 5-minute walk
A local go-to for a reason. Wilson Street Pantry is known for fresh ingredients, strong coffee, and hearty dishes. Try their poached eggs with smashed avocado or their full breakfast with all the trimmings. They’ve got veggie and gluten-free options too, so nobody misses out.

Singl-end Merchant City

John Street – 2-minute walk
Singl-end is perfect if you’re after a big brunch with a twist. Think sweet potato hash, breakfast burritos, homemade baked beans, and loaded banana bread. Their portions are generous and their homemade cakes are worth saving room for. Coffee is great too.

Outlier

Virginia Street – under 10 minutes on foot
Sleek and minimal, Outlier offers locally roasted coffee and a seasonal brunch menu. The vibe is more relaxed than rushed, and dishes like whipped ricotta on sourdough or smoked salmon with scrambled eggs are done well. Good spot if you like things simple and high quality.

The Brunch Club

Old Dumbarton Road – 20 minutes by subway
A bit of a trek, but worth it if you want a fun brunch with friends or a social media-worthy plate. Think stacked pancakes, truffle eggs, and loaded breakfast tacos. The setting is colourful and the atmosphere buzzing. Great for late breakfast that blends into lunch.

Cafe Gandolfi

 Albion Street – 5-minute walk
A Glasgow institution. Cafe Gandolfi has been serving breakfast in Merchant City since the late 1970s. Their full Scottish breakfast is excellent, but lighter bites like porridge with berries or eggs Florentine are equally good. The rustic wooden interiors give it a warm, classic feel.

Riverhill Coffee Bar

Gordon Street – near Glasgow Central Station
Just a short stroll from George Square, Riverhill is ideal for a quick but tasty breakfast. You’ll find filled rolls, scones, flaky pastries, and brilliant coffee. Great if you’re heading for a day trip or just need something on the go.

Piece

West Regent Street – 10-minute walk
Famous for their sandwiches, Piece also does a solid breakfast offering. Grab a bacon roll, a sausage butty, or a veggie brekkie wrap and pair it with a strong coffee. Simple, fast, and always fresh.

The Wilson’s

Dundas Street – 5 minutes from the apartment
Small, casual, and full of flavour. Wilson’s does a classic breakfast well, and you’ll often find locals grabbing a morning bite before work. Expect fresh rolls, scrambled eggs, and friendly service.

Spitfire Espresso

Ingram Street – under 5 minutes away
Tucked down a side street, this is a gem for espresso lovers. Their breakfast menu is short but solid. Eggs on toast, sausage rolls, pastries with beans from local roasters. Grab a seat by the window and ease into your morning.

Bill’s Glasgow

West Nile Street – 7-minute walk
If you’re after something a little more familiar, Bill’s is a great all-rounder. The brunch menu covers everything from buttermilk pancakes to smashed avo and bacon rolls. Child-friendly, veggie-friendly, and very central.

Staying at PREMIER SUITES Glasgow George Square

Our serviced apartments offer more than just a bed. You’ll have your own kitchen, meaning you can whip up breakfast at home when you’d rather stay in. But being so close to all of these cafes means you’ve also got Glasgow’s brunch scene on your doorstep.

It’s ideal for longer stays, family trips, or city breaks where you want both flexibility and location. If you’re heading out to explore Glasgow’s parks, museums, or galleries, a good breakfast is the best way to start your day.

Getting Around

Most of these brunch spots are within a 10-minute walk of our accommodation. If you’re heading further afield (like The Brunch Club or The West End), just hop on the subway from Buchanan Street a few minutes from your door.

Planning a longer trip? PREMIER SUITES locations are dotted across the UK and Ireland, including Edinburgh, Liverpool, Manchester, Dublin, and Reading all with the same comfort, convenience, and space you get in Glasgow.
