The first ever WestFest will take place from Friday 2nd – Sunday 25th June and we are so excited to welcome over 100 excellent local and international acts to the city. WestFest was formed in 2022 in response to the overwhelming demand for quality, accessible events in Glasgow. Taking place in 50 venues across the West End of Glasgow, each event is unique and inclusive so everyone can get involved.
The event is championed by founder Brendon McIlroy and a range of community groups as part of its commitment to outreach and education. It also has a schoolbook programme which has been ongoing since October 2022. Speaking about the event Brendan says ‘It’s our view that after a very challenging few years and with all that’s going on in the world, people need a bit of levity and fun in their lives more than ever. The WestFest team feel that we are uniquely placed to deliver that and that’s what we intend to do this June!‘.
