The must see-attractions to visit during your Dublin stay

What’s on your Dublin bucket list? For some, it wouldn’t be a trip to the capital without a visit to the home of Guinness while for others a pint in Temple bar will do. Some love city parks while others want to explore the largest walled park in Europe which includes Dublin’s best family attraction. Let us be your guide on your next visit to Dublin, consulting our city guides and suggested itineraries. You can discover Dublin on your terms and find exactly what you’re looking for in our fair city. Here are some of the highlights we recommend.

Guinness Storehouse

First on our list-and for good reason-no trip to Dublin would be complete without a visit to Guinness Storehouse in Dublin 8. Whether you’re a fan of the black stuff or not, there is no denying that Guinness is loved the world over and helped to make Dublin a household name. The storehouse takes you through a self-guided tour of 7 floors packed with information, interactive exhibitions, restaurants, bars and shops, all with a special Guinness touch. It’s a fascinating day out for anyone over 18, drinker or not. To top it off (no pun intended) you can enjoy a freshly poured pint in one of the highest pubs in Ireland, Gravity Bar with astounding 360 views of the city.

Surrounding the storehouse is the colourful Liberties area, full of true Dublin characters, street stalls, sellers & markets and quirky cafes and bars on every corner.

Phoenix Park Dublin

An absolute gem in Dublin’s crown, Phoenix Park is a place to get lost or to find yourself. Hire a bike at the gate and explore the park on two wheels, taking in the rolling fields, monuments, the visitor centre, Dublin’s official state guesthouse –Farmleigh, the herds of wild dear, an old army fort and so much more! Visit Aras an Uachtarain (Ireland’s mini White House) where the President of Ireland lives with his wife and two adorable dogs. Explore the 1750 acres of meadowland with a woodland walk & picnic ending with a coffee in the on-site café.

Inside the Phoenix Park is one of Dublin’s best family attractions, Dublin Zoo. It takes the best part of a day to explore the huge area, which is home to over 400 rare, exotic and endangered animals from all around the world. It’s a fantastic day out for the whole family or a great alternative date idea.

Dublin Bay

When you think of Dublin, chances are you picture world-class shopping, great museums & galleries and enjoying a pint in the notorious Temple Bar area. On your trip to Dublin, make time to also visit Dublin Bay, a wild and wonderful part of the city. Rise early and discover Dublin from a new vantage point with Dublin Bay Cruises. The 60-70 minutes voyage will take you past Dalkey Island, Clontarf, Bull Island, Howth Head and more. You’ll see iconic Dublin landmarks with a new perspective, taking pictures of the city from a very unique viewpoint and learning some history along the way. Finish your day in the bay with some fresh fish and chips from one of the many chip shops dotted along the coast.

Croke Park Dublin

Croke Park has played a huge part in Ireland’s history, both sporting and otherwise. If you have an interest in traditional Irish sport, the history of the state or would like to enjoy magnificent views of the city, put the Croke Park Skyline Tour on your list. This tour takes you up 17 floors to the roof of Dublin’s iconic Croke Park Stadium, the largest stadium in Ireland. Make sure to bring your camera to capture some of the greatest 360° views of the capital. On your way up your tour guide will take you through the history of the city, regaling you with stories of local characters and our rich & varied past.
