City Sightseeing Glasgow Hop on Hop off Tour

Your family can enjoy a day “hopping on” and “hopping off” the two story big red tour bus while partaking in Glasgow’s many vibrant sights and landmarks. With many stops to choose from, it is your choice whether to depart and choose certain destinations and landmarks to explore deeper, or stay on board and enjoy the fantastic entertainment of the experienced and often comical tour guides. Either way, you are sure to enjoy your tour through the exciting Scottish city visiting such locations as the Glasgow Cathedral, George Square, The Royal Concert Hall, the Theatre Royal and the Riverside Museum. Many families enjoy The Kelvingrove Museum, one of Glasgow’s most popular attractions, where they explore lots of fun exhibits including the all-time favourite,  Frank Quitely:The Art of Comics. Superhero fans will “marvel” at this amazing collection!

Glasgow Science Centre

Attention all science lovers in the family! The Glasgow Science Centre makes for a great way to immerse fun and education all in one. With over 400 interactive and hands-on exhibits, it stimulates and fascinates the minds of all ages. From engineering your very own wind powered car, to conducting your own experiments, the centre make science super exciting! Families can gather in the full dome planetarium to watch a movie about the moon directed by the one and only Buzz Lightyear, or get seated in Scotland’s biggest IMAX screen shows to watch 3D wonders such as ‘Space Station’ and ‘Under the Sea”. However you choose to spend your time, you will walk away with knowledge and great memories.  

Opening hours: Wednesday to Sunday 10:00 – 15:00, Closed Monday and Tuesday.

Waverley Excursions

Take to the sea and sail on a piece of history!

You and your family have the chance to ride on the very last paddle steamers in the world! Fully restored to its original glory, the Waverley Excursions take you on a journey down the river in an old-fashioned style ship. With different excursions to choose from, your family can explore the lochs and islands of Scotland or spend the day at sea in Devon. 

The Tower Bridge will open just for your journey, perfect for photo ops and a bit of historical sightseeing. There are a variety of eating options available on board, you can dine in style, or choose a more casual dinner with the family.

Glasgow Botanic Gardens

For the nature lovers is, Glasgow is home to a beautiful and impressive botanic garden with international tropical and temperate plant collections. The botanic centre is extremely family friendly with a children’s garden aiming to encourage the growing, cooking and eating of health, natural food, as well as broader thinking for the older ages such as environmental and conservation concerns. 

After completing the indoor activities, the garden tour continues outdoors you can choose to saunter along the River Kelvin for a nice family walk.  

Opening hours:The Gardens are open from 7am till dusk daily. Generally: Glasshouses: 10am to 6pm (4.15pm in winter) Visitor Centre: 11am to 4pm Toilets: 10am to dusk
