The Christmas Markets
Are a lovely way to spend an afternoon, pottering around the stalls and looking at the lovely festive items for sale. Bristol has it’s own market, based right near to our apartments in Broadmead, but if your love for Christmas proves greater than just one market, we suggest you go to visit the Christmas market at the Abbey in Bath Spa also. Only a short train ride from Bristol Temple Meads, you’ll be in Bath within a 10 minute journey and experiencing the magical markets! As well as lots of stall selling lovely handmade items, there is also chance to grab some warm food and a Christmas mulled wine also! Perfect to warm those cold hands!
Experience a Magical Christmas
If you’re bringing along the family, there are plenty of activities to be entertaining all. Just a short drive from the city centre will get you to the National Trust property of Tyntesfield, where they are dedicating their Christmas festivities to the Victorian times, so we can step back into Christmas past. With storytelling, dancing and games, this is the perfect way to get the children’s interactive with history without them even realising!
Visit Santa With Your Little Ones
If your little ones are excited about a little visit from the man himself, Santa, then you can get them even more excited with a visit to Avon Valley Railway’s Santa Special event, running from the 26th November – 24th December. Experiencing a train ride on one of their steam trains as well as going to meet Santa and receiving a gift, this is an ideal way to get them in the Christmas mood!
The Best Christmas Parties and Dancing
The Spiegeltent is also returning to the Waterfront Square from 24th November, with Father Christmas’ Woodland Grotto open until 23rd December where your family can experience a real Christmas atmosphere in the fantastic round, wooden, magical tent. For the grown ups, come evening time, it’s the perfect venue for Christmas parties and dancing. Returning year on year, it’s a fantastic venue for live music, DJs, performance, theatre, masked balls, fine food and family events.
A really special place all year round is our Westonbirt Arboretum but at Christmas, it becomes even more special with their illuminated celebration of Westonbirt’s wonderful trees! All evening events need to be booked in advance, with tickets accessible through their website, see the Arboretum in a whole new way with this fantastic illuminated trail.
