Christmas In Newcastle

It’s almost the most wonderful time of the year again and this year we’re expecting a bigger and better festive season than ever. With something to do for all ages and preferences (apart from the Grinch who hates Christmas!) on the festive schedule, we’re excited to start planning. Now is a great time to book Christmas accommodation in PREMIER SUITES Newcastle before our serviced apartments fill up! Here’s what you can expect from a Winter visit to Newcastle

Fenwick’s Christmas Window Newcastle

Fenwick Newcastle opened its doors in 1882 and quickly became the city’s ultimate shopping destination selling high-end textiles and goods. In 1971, they unveiled what was to become a true Geordie tradition, their Christmas window. Christmas in Newcastle wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Fenwick Christmas Window on Northumberland Street to admire the creativity and magic of their team while you’re doing your Christmas shopping. Each year has a theme with moving characters, a bespoke soundtrack and twinkling lights. Each year the unveiling of the window becomes a bigger and more magical affair that happens mid-November and can be admired until January.

Panto & Christmas Performances in Newcastle

It wouldn’t be Christmas without screams of ‘He’s Behind You!’ from excited children and adults. This year, there are plenty of opportunities to catch some of your panto favourites live on stage across the city. NATIVITY! Christmas Markets in Newcastle

A highlight of any Christmas trip to Newcastle is a stop in the Christmas Market. While we love high street and high-end shops, you’ll find the real treasure in the independent shops and stalls at the markets. From 2nd December to 24th December 2022 the Newcastle Christmas Market returns to Grainger Street and Grey’s Monument. This year it incorporates the farmers market so you can pick up some delicious produce and preserves for your Christmas feast. At the market, you’ll find traders selling everything from clothing to toys, candles to skincare and everything in between. You’re sure to find something unique to gift to a friend or as a memento of a great weekend spent with loved ones in Newcastle.

Christmas Ice Skating in Newcastle

Have you ever been ice skating? You don’t need to travel to the frozen lakes of Antarctica to enjoy this fun, family-friendly activity, simply head to the ice rink at Life Science Centre. Make magical memories this Christmas at Newcastle’s popular family attraction, watching Mum, Dad, cousins, and friends try to perfect their axel turn or act like Bambi taking his first steps. Finish the day of fun with a tasty hot chocolate or calm your nerves with an Irish coffee. Buy tickets for your preferred time slot and enjoy a fantastic afternoon of fun. Book soon to avoid disappointment.

Find Santa in Newcastle

Following its success last year, the city has announced it is bringing back the popular Santa’s Grotto and Festive Forest experience for Christmas 2022. Making his big appearance in the upper green mall of Metrocentre from 17th November until Christmas Eve, children will be delighted to meet the man in red. families will be invited to decorate delicious Christmas gingerbread cookies with Santa’s elves, before walking through the enchanting Festive Forest wonderland to meet and take pictures with Santa himself.
