We’re delighted to see the return of the Christmas Market in Dublin Castle in 2023. Held within the hallowed grounds of one of Dublin’s most important buildings, the market is a chance for local and independent businesses to sell their creations, including a whole host of festive food and drink. The official dates have yet to be announced but it’s expected to run between December 8th to the 21st. Entry is free, but you do need to book in advance and it’s guaranteed to sell out.
Panto in Dublin
Panto has been a family tradition in Dublin since 1873 and they seem to get bigger and better each year. Christmas in Ballsbridge
Dublin 2 illuminates from mid-November with one of the most impressive decoration displays in Dublin. There are dozens of local restaurants with special Christmas menus, ideal for families, couples or groups. If you’re lucky enough to be in Dubin between 6 10th December, pop into our neighbour, the RDS, for the biggest craft fair in Ireland. The Irish Craft, Design and Food Fair has over 400 exhibitors, designers, makers & independent retailers. You’ll find more than 100 artisan food and drink merchants with everything you could possibly need for your Christmas entertaining. The show is open to the public and costs just €12 per adult and children under 16 go free).
New Years Celebration in Dublin
December 31st is extra special in Dublin, especially if you’re attending the New Year’s Festival. Taking place over 4 days this year from 29th December 2023 through to 1 January 2024, the festival brings together some of Ireland’s best talents for a host of events. Kicking off on Saturday, 30th December, Dublin Castle will host New Year’s Festival Dublin’s headline concerts across three days with a brilliant lineup to be announced. Soak up the festive atmosphere in Collins Barracks with live entertainment including music, DJs, food and pop-up street performances. Meeting House Square will have live performers and fun-filled family-friendly festivities. You may need tickets for select events.
