Celebrate Easter In Dublin

Spring is in the air which means the Easter break is just around the corner. We’re sure your little ones are looking forward to some time off work but are you? It can be hard to entertain little ones when they’re excited but a trip to Dublin will do the trick. There are dozens of things to do in Dublin over the Easter break from workshops and Easter egg hunts to zoo visits and stadium tours. With so many things to do in Dublin, you’ll want to extend your stay to fit everything in! Book your perfect family accommodation in Dublin in PREMIER SUITES Lesson Street and enjoy a home-from-home right in the heart of the city. Book on our website to secure our best available rates.

Enjoy Dublin Zoo

Whether been once or a hundred times, a visit to Dublin Zoo always entertains. If your children love animals, it’s a great place to spend the day getting lost among the playgrounds, picnic spaces, fun activities and thousands of animals, little and large. The zoo is open every day from 9:30 am-6pm and they’re running a series of workshops over the Easter break. Keep an eye on the keeper talks and feeding times and if you’re lucky you’ll catch a glimpse of its latest addition – a baby rhino born in January 2024.

Enjoy an EPIC Day

Whether you’re travelling with children or not, EPIC, the Irish Emigration Museum is a great day out for all ages. There are lots of excellent family-oriented events over the Easter holiday alongside the usual fascinating exhibits. There is an interactive storytelling experience suitable for ages one- to three-year-olds on 10 & 11th April where the playful Easter Púca tells the story of how Easter is celebrated in other countries. There’s a fun family tour on April 10, where the whole gang can explore the museum playing games and working as a team. If you don’t want to get involved the interactive museum is a guaranteed afternoon of fun.

Hugh Lane Gallery

Most easter activities, especially in museums, are aimed at older children but Hugh Lane Gallery is holding a workshop on April 8th that is specially designed for 1 to 3-year-olds. The Magic of Colour workshop allows little ones to play and experiment with paint and colour, creating an easter masterpiece to take home. For older children, the Sunday Sketching workshop on April 9th is a great way to get their creative juices flowing. This guided tour gives little one’s tips and tricks to becoming the artist they aspire to be.

GAA Fun

If you have a little one who has lots of energy or is fascinated with Irish sports, a tour of Croke Park is a great option as an Easter activity. Young GAA fans will love making their very own sports bear, bunny, chick, or lamb, followed by a guided tour of Croke Park Stadium with their furry friend. They’ll enjoy a workshop in Cú Chulainn’s Den where they can customise their bear with a name, a heart, a GAA Museum training kit and a birth cert. Spots are limited at this exciting event, so they recommend booking well in advance.

Easter Egg Decoration

The National Museum of Ireland has a fun schedule of workshops and classes over the Easter break, many of which are free of charge. The Garden of Eggs is an Easter egg decoration workshop taking place on 31st March from 1.30-3.30 pm. Create a custom egg inspired by Annemarie Reinhold’s Spoon Garden art installation, painted in your children’s favourite colour and style. Booking is not required so it’s the perfect option if the Spring weather lets you down. If you can’t make the workshop the museum is a fun and educational day out with changing exhibitions and an interesting permanent collection.
