Art and history fans must ensure a trip to the Rijksmuseum is top on their list when visiting Amsterdam. Located only 16 minutes on public transport from PREMIER SUITES Amsterdam, this is Netherland’s national museum and was established back in 1885 by King William the 1st. The museum has over 80 galleries with over 8,000 objects which tells the story of 800 years of Dutch art and history.

You will be amazed by everything here from, ancient sculptures, hand-made furniture, and better yet, an actual propeller plane on the top floor. Anne Frank House

Located at Prinsengracht 126 in Amsterdam, this museum is named after the inhabitant of Anne Frank, who hid with her family here for over two years during World War II. During her time there, Anne wrote on account of her time in the house, which has been turned into one of the most famous Holocaust memories. The house has since been turned into a museum for people to witness the atmosphere the family had to endure during their period of hiding.

It contains an exhibition filled with Anne’s diary quotes ( as well as some excerpts of Anne’s handwriting from the diary), original objects from people of that time as well as film and imagery of the events that took place during that time. This museum understandably is extremely popular amongst tourists so it is advised to book your ticket in advance of your trip.
