2021 – A Year in Review

We expected 2021 to be a year of recovery and a return to normal but for many, 2021 has been just as challenging as the previous year. PREMIER SUITES locations across the UK, Ireland and The Netherlands have continued to offer excellent accommodation throughout lockdowns, restrictions and curfews – providing guests, visitors and essential workers a safe place to call their home from home no matter that. We’ve had an eventful with many positive changes and developments. We look back on the defining events of 2021 for PREMIER SUITES and the achievements of our teams and management.

ISAAP Accreditation

ISAAP is the leading independent global quality standard for the corporate housing, aparthotel, and serviced apartment sector of the hospitality industry. In 2021, PREMIER SUITES were delighted to be recognised and take our place among 150 ISAAP accredited providers in over 200 cities in 25 countries and across 4 continents. This recognised worldwide accreditation meant we had to meet strict quality and safety standards, complete a compliance accreditation and a building accreditation – all while maintaining an extremely high standard in customer care and bearing in mind all Covid-19 hygiene and safety standards. We are delighted to be the holders of this fantastic accreditation and give guests another level of reassurance in our service.

ECOsmart 2021

At PREMIER SUITES, we understand the importance of environmental sustainability across our properties and work to reduce our carbon footprint wherever we can. All of our UK and Irish PREMIER SUITES locations have been awarded ECOsmart Silver accreditation, an industry standard for accommodation providers who provide an eco-friendly approach in key areas. All our properties in Belgium and The Netherlands joined Green Key, a voluntary eco-label awarded for excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism industry. We’ve worked hard this year to improve our properties wherever we could and make sure to show the best of our serviced apartments so guests can get an idea of our high standards before they arrive. All locations now have video galleries of each room type and a comprehensive property overview. FEBRUARY: Completed Ham & Chips challenge

In February, our properties in the UK came together to raise money for Hospitality Action, the trade charity offering a crucial lifeline to people of all ages, working and retired, from the UK hospitality industry. Behind our warm welcoming smiles, injuries, mental health problems and addiction are a part of hospitality workers lives and our teams wanted to play a small part in raising awareness and funds for this excellent cause. PREMIER SUITES UK teams cycled, ran and walked in the rain, cold and snow to complete over 500 miles as a team – but from a distance. Well done team!

UK properties achieved the CSC ‘Safe to Visit’ award

The health and safety of our guests and staff is always our top priority and we are consistently looking for ways to improve our service. In February we were delighted that our United Kingdom locations achieved the CSC ‘Safe to Visit’ award. This UK compliance award demonstrates exemplary overall standards of Health and Safety, Fire Safety and COVID-19 controls.

APRIL:

Our brand new PREMIER SUITES website launched in April 2021. After many months of diligent work behind the scenes, we’re so happy to showcase the massively improved design and user experience. From recent photos and videos to helpful neighbourhood guides and city spotlights, we hope you will love it as much as we do. Thanks to the team in Sprint Digital for crafting the bespoke design and bringing our brand to life. And the best part? When you book on our website, you will always pay €5 or £5 less per night than any other website, guaranteed!

MAY

In May, the team once again took to the streets to do our part and help to raise money to benefit two amazing charities. On Saturday 8th May, teams participated in Darkness Into Light to raise funds on behalf of Pieta and Rethink, supporting those impacted by mental illness. Teams across all locations took part in this sunrise walk and enjoyed a very special moment and symbol of hope, warmth and the promise of a brighter day ahead.

JUNE

In June, our team in Reading launched their new bike scheme, Stay, Hire & Explore. Joined by Councillor Karen Rowland and Alex Brannen from Reading UK the new scheme began with 6 bikes donated by Reading Borough Council. These are now offered complimentary to our leisure and corporate guests staying in our serviced apartments in Reading as part of their wellbeing programme. Get to know Reading by cycling around the town, alongside the River donated and see local attractions like Reading Abbey.

JULY

In July, Our Leeson Street Dublin address expanded with our newest apartment offering – the 2-Bedroom Townhouse at PREMIER SUITES PLUS Dublin Leeson Street. This beautiful Georgian Townhouse provides high ceilings, a private entrance, marble-fitted bathroom and contemporary fit-out is ideal for a VIP stay and is decorated to the usual PREMIER SUITES high standards.

AUGUST

In August, we wanted to give back to our frontline heroes across all locations. Our teams decided to offer a rest, some comfort and a place to call home to these brave men and women at a discounted rate and launched our Frontline Heros Save 10% rate. When you make a booking online, enter the code FH10 in the promo code box and enjoy 10% off your entire stay as a small thank you for your hard work and sacrifice over the past couple of years.

SEPTEMBER

September brought an expansion to our health and wellness campaign, PS Life, with the launch of our new initiative – ‘A Friendly Face in a New Space.’ Available in all locations, this initiative has been created to ensure that long-stay guests, particularly those who are travelling alone and in a new city, do not feel isolated or lonely. We now extend invites to long term guests for a coffee and a time to meet and chat with a member of our team, to chat about anything they like, from news and current affairs to tourist advice and local attractions. The idea is to promote human interaction, so our guests feel at home after a long day and feel comfortable reaching out to our team.
