Summer is a great time to visit the city as there is so much going on. There are events almost every weekend, some of which are free to visit for families. Brunel’s SS Great Britain are hosting a series of summer lates with eight dockyard gigs scheduled from 15 June. The dock will come alive this summer with live bands, a summer BBQ, local beers and family fun. The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta returns in August and as always is one of the most family-friendly events of the year. Get up early to see over 100 balloons take off before breakfast and spend the day exploring the live entertainment, fairground rides and a fun park in Aston Court Estate.
