The Wall forms part of the UNESCO Transnational World Heritage Site, Frontiers of the Roman Empire. Hadrian&#8217;s Wall\u00a0lies between Bowness-on -Solway in Cumbria to Wallsend in Tyne and Wear and is around 73.5 miles long. For around three centuries, Hadrian\u2019s Wall was a multi-cultured frontier sprawling coast to coast. It was built by up to 1500 men in just under six years, a mammoth task completed by hand around the year 122AD. During the summer months, there is a dedicated AD 122 bus from Hexham to all the major towns, Roman sites, and museums in the middle of Hadrian&#8217;s Wall Country. You can find more information about the dedicated bus on their website. The Go North East number 10 or Arriva 685 buses from Newcastle&#8217;s Eldon Square bus station go to Hexham where you can take the AD 122. During Autumn and Winter, the AD 122 bus does not operate. You can take a local taxi from Hexham or hire a car. During Winter, the more rural parts of the wall are difficult to access so you\u2019ll need suitable clothing and footwear.<\/p>\n<p>\n\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hadrian\u2019s Wall Path National Trail is a coast-to-coast walk from the North Sea to the Irish Sea alongside the iconic Hadrian\u2019s Wall.
